Whether for trade fair construction, retail or creative applications - our long-standing partner, Georg+Otto Friedrich GmbH, develops sustainable textiles and focuses on environmentally friendly materials and processes with the ‘GOING GREEN by Friedrich’ initiative. With PureNight Pro, an alternative to conventional block-out fabrics has been developed. The material is made from 100% polyester, is fully recyclable and is characterised by its high opacity - without any coating.

To assess its suitability for laser cutting, we tested PureNight Pro and analysed the material properties using a laser process.

Objective of the laser test:

Textiles are a key element in the advertising and exhibition industry – they must not only impress with vibrant colours but also allow for easy and precise processing. PureNight Pro by Georg+Otto Friedrich was therefore tested in a laser process to evaluate its suitability for various cutting and processing methods.

The eurolaser L-1200 system allowed PureNight Pro to be cut precisely. The cut edges remained clean and smooth, without fraying or discolouration. The non-contact processing prevented fabric distortion and the cut quality remained consistent throughout. The laser cut proved to be particularly contour-accurate, even along printed edges and with complex shapes. The possibility of automatic processing directly from the roll makes laser cutting suitable for efficient and uniform further processing of the material. The laser therefore proves to be a reliable and powerful tool that is ideal for this material.
