Further information on the collaboration with eurolaser
eurolaser tested the following products from Mimaki on the laser cutting machines:
Laser test: Mimaki Sb610 sublimation ink
Laser cutting of sublimated polyester canvas
Material
Mimaki’s Sb610 sublimation ink is first printed onto transfer paper and then transferred to polyester canvas using heat. The result is brilliant, colourfast prints with high wash resistance – ideal for promotional textiles, exhibition graphics and soft signage. The ink is OEKO-TEX® certified and therefore also excellently suitable for sustainable applications.
Test setup
The laser test was carried out on a eurolaser L-1200 laser cutting machine with a 400 W CO2 laser and integrated Conveyor System. Automated roll-to-roll processing was supported by the Smart Feed option. Registration marks were used for precise contour recognition. The objective was distortion-free cutting without affecting print quality.
Result
In our laser test, all requirements specified by Mimaki Deutschland were successfully met. Neither in the printed areas nor in the white areas did the textiles show any scorch residues after cutting. The result is flawless. The applied ink shows no damage whatsoever. Even intricate details can be processed without difficulty. Post-processing, such as sewing the cut edges, is not required thanks to edge sealing in the same operation. Recommended laser power: 60 watts.
