CO₂ laser machines – the ideal solution for cutting polycarbonate

What are the advantages of laser cutting polycarbonate and Makrolon®?

Polycarbonate (PC) is used in a wide range of technical and industrial applications. The material is also particularly common in the form of films. When laser cutting polycarbonate, a CO₂ laser enables precise and repeatable cuts without tool wear or tool changes. Intricate contours and printed polycarbonate films can also be cut with high precision.

Applications for laser cutting polycarbonate

Common applications of our laser machines for polycarbonate and Makrolon®

Polycarbonate (PC) is characterised by its high toughness, heat resistance, transparency and good electrical insulation properties. Polycarbonate films such as Makrofol® can also be printed and are available with a range of surfaces and finishes. This makes them suitable for functional and decorative components, for example in displays and control elements, printed electronics, as well as applications in the automotive and electronics industries.
