Cardboard material in the laser test

Oppboga Excellent™ and Oppboga Resilient™ from Oppboga Bruk AB

Whether for display construction, large format printing or creative POS applications - Oppboga Bruk AB offers sustainable cartonboard materials that combine optical quality and environmental responsibility. Oppboga Excellent™ impresses with its high degree of whiteness and versatile processability, Oppboga Resilient™ with its special moisture resistance. Both are made from 100% FSC-certified virgin fibres, are fully recyclable and are an environmentally friendly alternative to plastic composites.
We have tested and analysed both materials to assess their suitability for use with loads.translator

Oppboga Excellent™:

Oppboga Excellent™ is a white premium paperboard made from 100% FSC-certified fresh wood fibres. It impresses with its exceptional flatness, low weight and a triple-coated, bright white surface for brilliant printing results. The high opacity enables double-sided applications without show-through.

The material is fully recyclable, PVC-free and offers an environmentally friendly, high-performance alternative to plastic composites - ideal for high-quality POS displays, interior signage, window displays and packaging.

Test procedure:

The test was carried out on a eurolaser M-1200 with a 400 W CO₂ laser. A stable work table with optimum extraction was used. The aim was to produce smooth, tear-free edges, filigree contours and distortion-free cuts - even with tighter radii. Various material thicknesses were tested for dimensional accuracy.

Test result:

Smooth, clean cut edges without fraying

Oppboga Excellent™ could be cut precisely and cleanly. The edges remained smooth, without fraying or warping. Even fine shapes could be realised precisely. The laser technology proved to be the ideal solution for the creative and efficient processing of sustainable cardboard material - without any tool wear.

Oppboga Resilient™

Oppboga Resilient™ is a robust virgin fibre cartonboard that retains its shape even when exposed to moisture. It is made from 100% FSC-certified wood fibres, is recyclable and PVC-free.

Its high rigidity makes it ideal for durable displays, packaging and moisture-resistant applications in indoor and protected outdoor areas.

Test procedure:

The test was carried out on a eurolaser M-1200 with a 400 W CO₂ laser. The aim was to achieve a clean, closed cut edge without fraying or impairing the material properties. Various thicknesses were tested for dimensional accuracy, detail accuracy and cutting pattern - even with complex shapes.

Test result:

Excellently suited for laser processing

Oppboga Resilient™ impressed with precise, smooth cuts. No material deformation occurred and the moisture resistance was maintained. Laser processing enabled contour-accurate cuts without tool printing - ideal for high-quality, sustainable packaging and POS solutions.
