Functional textiles based on embroidery

The company Embro, derived from the English term embroidery, has many years of experience in technical embroidery as well as in the processing of technical textiles. Through its targeted specialisation in functional textiles and smart textiles, Embro GmbH develops and manufactures textile components for industrial applications, combining extensive technical and process-related expertise.

What exactly is being produced?

A wide range of application areas

The application areas of Embro products are as diverse as the property requirements defined by customers. These include flexible heating elements and heating pads, technical textiles for medical applications, textile sensors and antenna structures, smart textiles and conductive tapes, flexible printed circuit boards, as well as dry preforms for fibre-reinforced composite materials.

Fibre-reinforced components and functional elements through embroidery

From development to series production

Another field of activity is the manufacture of dry preforms for the production of fibre-reinforced composite materials using the so-called Tailored Fibre Placement process. In this process, bundled carbon fibre strands (rovings) are placed in a targeted manner onto a carrier substrate, often simply referred to as carbon placement. The placement can be carried out in any desired direction, i.e. between 0 and 360 degrees.

Along the entire value chain, a high level of willingness to innovate and short response times characterise the company philosophy. Embro thus guarantees reliability, speed and a high degree of innovation. Customer orientation and top quality are ensured by highly qualified specialist personnel as well as targeted training and further education measures on new production systems – such as the laser cutting system.

What is the eurolaser system used for?

eurolaser XL-1600 with Shuttle Table System

To implement customer-specific products efficiently and precisely, Embro GmbH relies on modern laser cutting technology from eurolaser. The eurolaser XL-1600 has been an integral part of production since mid-2022 and complements the existing machine park with a powerful and flexible cutting solution.

It enables clean, contour-accurate cutting of a wide range of geometries and materials – from technical textiles to aramid, glass fibre and carbon fabrics. Thanks to the Shuttle Table System, loading and unloading processes can take place in parallel with laser processing, supporting a continuous production flow.

High process speed and clean cut edges

Wide design freedom for complex shapes and layouts

Reliable processing of aramid, glass fibre and carbon fabrics

Efficient workflows through parallel loading and unloading

We can work comfortably with the eurolaser XL-1600, as it is easy to operate and also offers plenty of scope for large objects. Another advantage is that it can also cut special materials such as aramid, glass fibre and carbon fabrics.
