Test result:
Just as good as regular Plexiglas®
Our extensive processing tests have shown that PLEXIGLAS® proTerra can be processed just as well as other acrylic variants. The material can be cut and engraved with our systems. The processing parameters are identical to those of extruded PMMA. PLEXIGLAS® proTerra is therefore a more environmentally friendly alternative to conventional PLEXIGLAS®, which is in no way inferior to the original in terms of quality and can be processed in exactly the same way.

Coextrusion of recycled PLEXIGLAS®
PLEXIGLAS® proTerra is manufactured using the so-called coextrusion process. By definition, this is the merging of similar or dissimilar plastic melts as they leave a die. In this specific case, therefore, the molten acrylic is not just forced through a die to a desired thickness, as is the case with extruded acrylic. Instead, a core of recycled acrylic is created, while virgin material is found on the outer edges. The result is a high-performance material.

PLEXIGLAS® proTerra is available in the variants black and colorless. Depending on this, there are different areas of application. The recycled acrylic can be used just like an extruded acrylic. This includes, for example, the use as displays, decorative elements in interior design, architecture, privacy screens, illuminants, advertising materials, displays and equipment for trade fairs.
