Further information on working with eurolaser
eurolaser tested the following materials from MADREPERLA on its laser cutting machines:
Laser test: Green Cast® Setacryl and Polarlite
Laser cutting of 100% recycled acrylic glass
Material
Green Cast® is a cast acrylic (PMMA) made from recycled material. Setacryl offers high-gloss, light-transmissive surfaces, while Polarlite features a matte side to reduce reflections. Both variants are UV-resistant, weatherproof and fully recyclable, making them excellently suitable for sustainable advertising and design applications.
Test setup
The test was carried out on an XL-1600 laser cutting system with a 450 W CO₂ laser, ideally suited for standard acrylic sheets. A grid cutting table was used to minimise reflections. Various material variants with protective film were processed. The objective was to achieve crystal-clear, burr-free edges and fine, delicate shapes without material breakage.
Result
Green Cast® impressed in all tested variants – transparent and coloured, with thicknesses of 3–5 mm – delivering excellent cutting results. The edges were crystal-clear, smooth and burr-free, even on delicate contours. The protective film could be processed without any issues. Conclusion: excellently suitable for precise, sustainable laser cutting with eurolaser systems.
Advantages
