Laser cutting of multi-layer carbon fibre fabrics


Material

Tenowo carbon nonwoven materials are made from recycled carbon fibres and are excellently suitable as fibre reinforcement in components with low mechanical loads. They offer low weight combined with high volume and are suitable for a wide range of applications – for example in automotive engineering, aerospace, heating technology and shipbuilding.


Test setup

The tests were carried out on a eurolaser XL-1600 laser cutting machine with a 400 W CO2 laser. The objective was to achieve high processing speeds with precise repeat accuracy and consistently high cutting quality.

Result

The processing tests at eurolaser have shown that Tenowo carbon nonwoven materials can be cut excellently with our CO2 laser systems. Even with a material thickness of 9.1 mm, our laser systems achieve outstanding results.

Laser cutting of filter materials


Material

Zetajet and Zetafelt are technical nonwoven materials for demanding filtration applications. Zetajet (spunlace) is soft, tear-resistant and excellently suitable for medical masks and liquid filters. Zetafelt (needle felt) offers high particle retention efficiency and is particularly suitable for air and machine filters. Both materials provide stability, precision and versatile application options.


Test setup

The tests were carried out on an L-1200 laser cutting machine with 400 W laser power and an integrated Conveyor System. The filter material was processed automatically directly from the roll – ideal for precise cutting in serial production.

Result

Tenowo filter nonwoven materials were cut with high precision and process reliability. The cutting edges were clean and lint-free – even with complex contours. Thanks to contactless processing, no manual fixation was required. Laser processing is excellently suitable for intricate cut patterns and automated serial production.
