Laser Test: ORAJET®
Laser cutting of digital print films
Material
ORAJET® 3172XG-010 is a PVC-free, white gloss polypropylene film with a grey removable polyacrylate adhesive – ideal for indoor and short-term outdoor applications. It complies with the EN 71-3:2013 toy safety standard. ORAJET® 3352F-000 is an ultra-clear polyester film with a glossy, lacquer-coated surface, specially designed for glass surfaces and suitable for wet application.
Test setup
To evaluate the laser cutting capability of the films, eurolaser tested two different high-performance films from ORAFOL in its in-house application laboratory. The tests were carried out on our XL-1600 laser cutting machine with 60 W CO₂ laser power.
Result
The tested ORAFOL films were cut optimally with 60 W CO₂ laser power. All variants demonstrated clean cutting edges and consistently high quality – even with tight radii and intricate details. Thanks to contactless processing, no blade cleaning or adhesion of cut parts was required. A detailed test report is available on request.

Laser Test: ORABOND® UHB3050T
Laser cutting of high-performance adhesive tapes
Material
ORABOND® UHB3050T is a high-performance adhesive tape with an extremely durable acrylate adhesive that bonds reliably even at high temperatures and under mechanical stress. The result is very strong adhesive strength for permanent, invisible bonds. Excellently suitable for applications in the solar industry, for glass and plastic bonding, partition walls, doors and safety glass – wherever transparency and high adhesive performance are required.
Test setup
For the material test, ORABOND® was processed using a CO₂ laser at 400 W on an XL-1600 processing area. Cutting was carried out contactlessly. Due to the adhesive properties of the material, the use of laser technology was particularly advantageous, as there was no tool contact and therefore no contamination from adhesive residues. The objective of the test was precise, residue-free cutting with high repeat accuracy.
Result
Laser cutting of ORABOND® with the CO₂ laser resulted in exact, clean cutting edges without adhesion or material distortion. Cutting quality remained consistently high throughout the entire process. Even tight radii and intricate contours were implemented precisely. Thanks to contactless processing, adhesive residues on tools were avoided – ideal for serial production.
