Laser test: Tepex® dynalite

Laser cutting of organo sheet

Material

Tepex® dynalite is a thermoplastic fibre-reinforced composite material with high stiffness and excellent energy absorption. The lightweight organo sheet is ideally suited for automotive, sports equipment and industrial components – particularly for large-scale series production with high quality requirements.

Test setup

The tests were carried out on a eurolaser M-1600 with a 600 W CO₂ laser. The Tepex® material was used in sheet form. Due to the high material stability, a correspondingly high laser power is required for cutting.

Result

Tepex® dynalite could be processed using CO₂ laser machines. The cut edges were precise and clean. Laser technology is generally suitable for this material; however, high-power laser systems are required to reliably achieve high-quality results.

Advantages

Contact-free cutting without tool wear.

Fine, intricate contours with maximum precision.

Consistently high cutting quality.

Automated processing of sheet material.
