eurolaser x Bond-Laminates: innovative solutions for composites
Bond-Laminates, Germany
Bond-Laminates was founded in 1997 in Brilon. Under the Tepex® brand, the company develops thermoplastic fibre-reinforced composite materials characterised by low weight, high strength and versatile application options in automotive, sports and industrial sectors.
Further information on the cooperation with eurolaser
eurolaser tested the following Bond-Laminates materials on its laser cutting systems:
Laser test: Tepex® dynalite
Laser cutting of organo sheet
Material
Tepex® dynalite is a thermoplastic fibre-reinforced composite material with high stiffness and excellent energy absorption. The lightweight organo sheet is ideally suited for automotive, sports equipment and industrial components – particularly for large-scale series production with high quality requirements.
Test setup
The tests were carried out on a eurolaser M-1600 with a 600 W CO₂ laser. The Tepex® material was used in sheet form. Due to the high material stability, a correspondingly high laser power is required for cutting.
Result
Tepex® dynalite could be processed using CO₂ laser machines. The cut edges were precise and clean. Laser technology is generally suitable for this material; however, high-power laser systems are required to reliably achieve high-quality results.
Advantages
Contact-free cutting without tool wear.
Fine, intricate contours with maximum precision.
Consistently high cutting quality.
Automated processing of sheet material.
