SAATI Deutschland GmbH

Laser cutting of high-tech fabrics

Since its founding in 1956, the development and manufacture of technical fabrics has been the core expertise of SAATI Deutschland GmbH in Raesfeld. What began as a weaving mill producing the first postal sacks from synthetic yarns has, through continuous growth, developed into a fully integrated company with state-of-the-art technical equipment, in-house finishing for further fabric processing, and its own laboratory for product development and quality assurance.

Customised fabrics for industry

All fabrics are supplied not only as roll goods, but also customer-specific as cut parts or die-cut components – sewn or welded. Using state-of-the-art sewing, punching, cutting and welding technologies, a wide variety of products are created, such as filter cloths for filter presses, coverings for drum filters, filter segments for disc filters, special filter and conveyor belts, filter bags and hoses, silo liners for bulk materials, as well as insole inserts in a wide range of sizes and designs. The spectrum ranges from the smallest lint screens to multi-layer welded saran® fabrics and underlines SAATI’s commitment to developing innovative and individual solutions together with the customer.

Laser technology enables precise cutting contours and the clean implementation of even complex cutting patterns that cannot be realised manually. Computer-controlled cutting ensures consistent, reproducible quality with cleanly sealed cut edges that prevent the fabric from fraying. Thanks to automatic material feed, textiles are supplied directly from the roll and processed continuously, making virtually endless, contour-accurate cuts possible based on customer-specific cutting patterns and technical drawings.

Working with the laser is excellent! The fact alone that the new system is equipped with edge control makes the work much easier compared to the previous system. The extraction system is also far more effective and quieter. The material lies cleanly and flat on the cutting table, resulting in significantly less waste.
