Rohde & Schwarz GmbH & Co. KG, Germany
Quality, innovation and security
Rohde & Schwarz has been a globally leading electronics group based in Munich since 1933. In the business fields of test and measurement, broadcasting, secure communications as well as monitoring and location technology, the company is among the market leaders. Through continuous innovation and sustainable corporate management, the group places particular emphasis on environmental protection, resource-efficient production and the minimisation of environmental impact.
What exactly is being produced?
Polyurethane spacers for electronic assemblies
At the Teisnach plant in the Bavarian Forest, spacers made of polyurethane are cut using high-precision laser processing. Thanks to its material properties, the foam plastic is ideally suited for electronic assemblies where the highest dimensional accuracy and cleanliness are required. Instead of former punching and blade-based processes, the laser now ensures precise, lint-free cuts without post-processing. With the eurolaser M-800, material-related contamination and resulting short circuits in electronic devices are a thing of the past.
What is the laser used for?
Manufacturing of high-quality products
At Rohde & Schwarz, state-of-the-art laser processing ensures the high quality of sophisticated electronics and test and measurement products. Precise, lint-free cuts increase dimensional accuracy, reduce post-processing and enhance the efficiency of production processes. Especially for polyurethane spacers, housings and electronic assemblies, the laser guarantees the highest product quality and durability. The technology not only optimises employees’ workflows, but also supports compliance with the highest safety and quality standards.
Through the targeted use of laser processing, Rohde & Schwarz combines precision manufacturing, high productivity and innovative technology – decisive factors for global competitiveness and success in the electronics industry.
Award-winning production
Outstanding small-batch manufacturing
Continuous development within the company, together with a strong sense of order, cleanliness, high flexibility, lean processes and a high level of delivery reliability, has already earned Rohde & Schwarz several awards. In 2010, the Teisnach plant was named Factory of the Year in the category “Outstanding Small-Batch Manufacturing”. The award was presented by the business newspaper Produktion in cooperation with the consulting firm A.T. Kearney. Since 1992, this competition has been regarded as the most demanding and long-established benchmark competition for manufacturing companies in Germany.
