Kunststoff-Institut Lüdenscheid, Germany
The link between science and practice
The Kunststoff-Institut Lüdenscheid supports companies in the selection, development and optimisation of products, tools and processes in plastics technology. Key areas of focus include material testing, material analysis and the processing of thermoplastics and thermosets. The aim is to sustainably improve quality and cost-efficiency in industrial manufacturing.
Challenge of the Kunststoff-Institut Lüdenscheid
Putting research results into practice
The challenge lies in preparing scientific findings in such a way that they can be applied under real production conditions. Particularly when working with new materials and processes, flexible processing technologies must be used to reliably meet varying requirements and to generate robust results for industrial application.
eurolaser solution
Versatile laser technology for a wide range of materials
With the eurolaser M-1200 laser cutting system, the institute can process a wide range of materials such as plastics, films, wood veneers and textiles. The system enables scientific research to be transferred directly into practical applications and allows different processing methods to be tested with a high degree of flexibility.
Laser cutting of plastics
Advantages in research and application
CO₂ laser technology offers a high degree of flexibility in the selection of materials and cutting contours. Particularly advantageous is the precise and clean cutting of materials such as films that are subsequently back-injection moulded. This enables realistic testing while delivering reliable results for industrial applications.
CO₂ laser technology offers the advantage of being able to cut a wide range of plastics as well as other materials such as wood veneers or textiles, while providing a high degree of flexibility in the selection of cutting contours. Particularly important for the Kunststoff-Institut is the residue-free cutting of films that are subsequently back-injection moulded with plastics.
