Insights into the structure of the body

Gunther von Hagens developed the process of plastination as early as the 1970s. Over several decades, he continuously researched and refined this technique. Plastination now makes it possible to give all body parts structural stability and to preserve them permanently. This detailed preparation and innovative long-term preservation are the result of Gunther von Hagens’ persistence as well as exceptional scientific achievements. They reflect craftsmanship at the highest level of perfection.

Objective of Gubener Plastinate

Visualised anatomy as a teaching and learning tool

The ability to permanently and vividly depict previously unseen anatomical structures represents a milestone in uncovering the interrelationships within the structure of the human body. In addition to educating the general public, the insights gained can significantly enhance the training of future medical professionals.

For this reason, Gubener Plastinate GmbH is committed to making its findings available for research and education. Educational institutions have the opportunity to acquire realistic digital prints that enable complex medical concepts to be explained clearly and effectively.

Highly detailed visualisations

High-quality digital printing on acrylic

For production, acrylic panels are finished with brilliant, highly detailed digital prints. The combination of high-quality photographic printing and transparent acrylic creates a distinctive depth effect with above-average colour brilliance. At the same time, the acrylic material provides long-term protection for the prints against external influences and mechanical stress.

Why is laser cutting used?

Precision and crystal-clear edge quality in large formats

For the precise cutting of individual contours, Gubener Plastinate GmbH uses a eurolaser XL-Line laser cutting system. Even acrylic panels up to 20 mm thick can be cut accurately without any need for post-processing. The smooth, transparent cut edges give the exhibits a premium appearance and underline their professional use in exhibition environments as well as in medical education.

The camera recognition system POSITION+ ensures precise detection of the printed images and guarantees exact contour guidance, even for large-format motifs.

The use of laser technology enables us to ideally meet our requirements for the perfect and efficient cutting of specimen prints according to defined contours. The result of the acrylic processing is a visually appealing acrylic edge that is excellently suitable for handling both in the presentation areas of our exhibitions and in the medical teaching environments of our clients.
