Sustainability at eurolaser

At our site in Lüneburg, we rely on renewable energy. Our own photovoltaic system generates up to 200 kW of solar power. Combined with a battery storage system with a capacity of 150 kWh, this enables us to achieve an energy self-sufficiency rate of up to 75%. In addition, we have installed EV charging stations for our visitors and employees.

Through the comprehensive energy-efficient refurbishment of our office and production facilities, we have reduced CO₂ emissions by approximately 65%. Our modern combined heat and power (CHP) unit, with an output of up to 20 kW, contributes to the energy supply at our site.

As a company that has been based in the beautiful Hanseatic city of Lüneburg for many years, we feel a strong commitment to the city and the surrounding region. We therefore actively rely on local networks when selecting our suppliers and service providers. This approach enables short delivery times and a rapid response to technical changes. We also prioritise regional partnerships when choosing our suppliers, reducing transport-related emissions through shorter delivery routes.

High-quality components guarantee reliability and durability, ensuring our customers a profitable investment for years to come. It is not uncommon for our machines to remain in use for over 20 years. The modular design allows for adjustments to changing market requirements at any time. We also make sure that new developments, wherever technically feasible, are backwards compatible and can be retrofitted to existing systems. The robust construction and the well-balanced interaction of all components guarantee maximum production reliability and deliver significant customer value – reflected in low downtime rates and long maintenance intervals.

Returning recyclable materials to their system cycle is a crucial aspect of our responsible use of resources. Recycling is a high priority at eurolaser. We use virtually single-type materials for our machines and avoid plastics and composite materials as far as possible. More than 90% of the materials used are easily separable and recyclable. Our shipping and packaging materials consist mainly of renewable raw materials.

When developing our products, we focus on the efficient use of resources and reliable, long-term operation. We ensure continuous operational readiness through our comprehensive service and spare parts management and exclusively use durable, maintenance-free laser sources. The CO₂ lasers are maintenance-free and do not consume technical gases that require significant amounts of energy to produce. By using closed water circuits in our cooling systems, our laser machines require no additional water.

Our carefully designed extraction concept removes smoke and gas emissions where they are generated – directly above and below the cutting gap. Our multi-stage extraction and filtration technology reduces the release of fine dust and other particles into the ambient air. Suitable filters separate coarse and fine dust particles up to HEPA (H11) filter class. Hazardous substances, including those in the gas phase, are filtered out using activated carbon absorption filters. The specific filtration performance and substances captured depend on the respective filter configuration and the material being processed. This helps to reduce exposure of the ambient air and machine operators while limiting filter volumes and disposal costs.

In most cases, we take back used laser machines and refurbish them for daily use. This allows us to extend the service life of a machine by up to 100%. Our technology is adapted to the latest standards and energy efficiency is improved by replacing and renewing consumption-related parts and components.

With the training concept ACADEMY, eurolaser offers a comprehensive programme for further education and professional development. The workshops enable our customers and partner companies to make the best possible use of our laser systems. Training also covers statutory requirements relating to occupational safety and operational security. We place great importance on investing in our own future talent. Most of our apprentices are offered permanent employment after successfully completing their training. Many of our specialists and managers began their careers at eurolaser through an apprenticeship or a dual study programme.

Social commitment concerns us all, and companies in particular are challenged in many ways. From the very beginning, eurolaser has been strongly committed to the education and training of children and young people. A wide range of apprenticeships and internships in various professions and regular visits from school classes are part of everyday life at the company. As part of our regional support for social projects, we also regularly support regional aid organisations and projects.
