Laser test: Mediatex®
Laser cutting of polyester textiles for digital printing
Material
Mediatex® is a product line of technical textiles from JM Technical Textiles, specifically developed for digital printing. The polyester fabrics are certified according to Oekotex® Standard 100 and offer properties such as tear resistance, UV resistance and opacity. Typical applications include banners, light boxes, awnings and wall coverings. The following Mediatex® variants were tested:

Test setup
The laser test was carried out on a eurolaser 3XL-3200 with a recommended laser power of 250 W and an integrated Conveyor System. This enables automated processing directly from the roll. The objective was precise, distortion-free cutting with clean edges, even for elastic materials and complex contours.
Result
All Mediatex® variants can be cut excellently. The cut edges are lint- and fray-free, without any burn residue – even with intricate shapes. Contact-free laser cutting prevents material distortion and ensures consistently high quality. Tool changes and downtime are eliminated.
