KM foliographics GmbH & Co. KG, Germany

B2B specialist for industrial film and surface solutions

Since 2004, KM foliographics has been developing and producing versatile solutions for surface finishing. The portfolio includes design and decorative films for caravan and motorhome applications in both interior and exterior environments, as well as protective and functional films – for example for UV protection, privacy screening, surface protection and anti-slip applications. The offering is complemented by project-based and series production solutions for industry, as well as architectural and increasingly automotive applications.

All services are delivered on a project basis within a B2B environment. Customers include caravan and automotive manufacturers, as well as architects and industrial companies, project clients, shopfitters, planners and site managers. The aim is to further strengthen the company’s strong position in the caravan market while consistently expanding the portfolio for automotive and architectural applications.

Laser cutting of display protection films, polycarbonate and composite materials

Precise implementation of functional details and complex applications

Using laser cutting technology, display protection films, kiss-cut pull tabs, polycarbonate composite sheets and technical cut parts for architectural and industrial projects are produced. Engravings such as logos, barcodes or QR codes can also be implemented efficiently. The processing of a wide range of materials – from films to natural materials – enables a high degree of flexibility while maintaining precise results.

Challenge: expansion of technologies for new applications

Increasing requirements and new material combinations

With increasing project diversity and new applications, particularly in the automotive sector, requirements in terms of precision, material diversity and functional details have continued to rise.

In addition to traditional films, new material combinations, polycarbonate composite sheets and functional details such as kiss-cuts and engravings have been introduced.

To meet these requirements in a more flexible, reproducible and cost-efficient manner in the future, the existing production portfolio was strategically expanded.

The existing flatbed plotters will remain an important component for classic film applications. However, an additional technology was required for innovative materials, technical composite solutions and new product concepts in order to realise the next stage of portfolio development.
