Questions about laser cutting plastics
Yes, you can use CO₂ laser machines to create vector engravings, image engravings and relief engravings. The non-contact processing results in clean engravings without tool wear – ideal for lettering, logos or decorative structures in many plastics.
Although PVC can be processed using lasers, this produces toxic gases such as hydrochloric acid. For safety and corrosion protection reasons, eurolaser recommends not cutting PVC with lasers, but instead using mechanical tools such as knives and routing.
Yes, even multi-wall sheets made of plastic can be cut precisely and without contact using eurolaser's CO₂ laser machines. The laser produces clean cut edges without deforming the material – ideal for applications in advertising, display construction and architecture.
Yes, this often even has the advantage of sealing the cut edges and protecting them from moisture and dirt.
Yes, thanks to camera recognition, we can cut contours perfectly along print designs. Tolerances are compensated for by software.
Plastics are known by the following material terms
Acrylic, synthetic textile, plastic film, polyester, polycarbonate, polyamide, polyurethane, polystyrene, polypropylene, PET-G, PET, polyoxymethylene, polyimide
