Success factor – Innovation

eurolaser doubles its capacities in research and development

eurolaser has been receiving orders for the new generation of laser systems since January 2012. The successful market launch, which brought many relevant improvements, has prompted management to pave the way for additional innovations. The number of staff in eurolaser's research and development department is being increased in targeted fashion.

In fact, employee numbers for this department have doubled over the past six months. In this way, not only is eurolaser focused on its consistent expansion strategy, but the company is also making targeted investments to ensure the improvement and redevelopment of innovative products. The highly varied nature of markets and applications requires excellent laser system flexibility. In order to be able to meet these requirements for years to come, this area is now being expanded. This means that improvements and customer suggestions can be promptly incorporated.

Research and development has always been of utmost importance for eurolaser. "The further development and optimization of laser technology, as well as the design and implementation of new automation technologies, plays an ever more decisive role in the race to become the global leader of the technological field," explains Reinhard Heibutzki (Product Manager at eurolaser).

Client benefits are always essential for the development of new technologies. Practical relevance is therefore a key focus of each project. "A good example from the past is the shuttle table system. This automation technology generates an increase in productivity of up to 75% and is especially ideal for film cutting. Now, approximately 90% of all systems sold in this market segment are supplied with this  optional feature – a clear demonstration of sophisticated development. In fact, eurolaser has already applied for numerous patents," states Reinhard Heibutzki.

In this way, it is not only the large innovations which create sustainable success, but, in fact, the coordination of continuous improvements plays a vital role. The step-by-step further development of successful technologies is a top priority whilst pursuing close dialogue with clients.
