Laser cutting, laser engraving and laser marking polyurethane foam, PUR

Laser system helps to process rigid foam

Polyurethane (PUR) - cutting, engraving and marking with laser technology of eurolaser
Polyurethane foam
  • Perfectly accurate laser cutting, in particular for printed materials thanks to an optical recognition system
  • The CO2 laser means that no forces are acting on the material during cutting, engraving or marking, so the material is not subjected to mechanical stresses
  • Non-contact processing means the material does not need to be fixed
  • No tool wear, no tool changing
  • Highly cost-efficient production of even small lot sizes, up to medium sized serial production
  • Clean and perfect cuts - no post-processing necessary
  • Laser cutting emissions can be extracted and filtered completely

eurolaser systems enable users to cut, engrave and mark even large areas.

Material information

Polyurethane (PUR or PU) is a synthetic foam or resin material. Its qualities make polyurethane very versatile, it is very durable, mould and mildew resistant and, depending on manufacture, it can be hard and brittle or soft and flexible. The material characteristics determine how PUR is used. For example, rigid foam is used in the shoe industry (soles of shoes), for domestic use (sponges), and for insulation purposes. CO2 lasers are used for separating, labelling and engraving the material.
