Engraving of surface
The panels used are made of a light-conducting material such as acrylic, which generates a uniform light source. Even illumination over the whole material surface is vital in this application, whereby the light must be deflected vertically to the surface. A raster is created on the surface during laser engraving so that the light that is fed in via the cut edges is emitted evenly. The arrangement of the raster dots or lines can be optimised via the software. The number and distribution of the raster dots enables targeted control of the luminosity.
Laser technology for backlight panels
Panels of up to 3,200 x 3,200 mm can be processed with the eurolaser systems using the Raster Engraving Unit.
Some material manufacturers have recognised this trend and launched materials dedicated especially to this application.
